Crisis in Ukraine: opinion of residents of oblast centers

In the period from 25 to 27 of January 2014 the company Research & Branding Group conducted the public opinion poll of residents of 23 oblast centers of Ukraine, cities Kiev, Sevastopol and Simferopol regarding their attitude to the current political crisis. Data was collected by means of personal interview. Respondents were chosen by quota sample representing the adult population by place of living (oblast) gender and age. The sample consists of 2079 persons. The expected average sample error is +2.2%. Data in percents 

 WHETHER SUPPORT EUROMAYDAN % to the questioned 
A half of residents of oblast centers of Ukraine (51%) do not support Euromaydan in Kiev, at the same time 44% of residents of these cities have an opposite opinion. 
The maximum level of support of Euromaydan is registered in oblast centers in the West of Ukraine (86%) while 81% of residents of oblast centers of Eastern Ukraine do not support Euromaydan. 

ATTITUDE TO THE FACT THAT IN THE NUMBER OF OBLASTS PROTESTERS CAPTURED / TRIED TO CAPTURE OBLAST STATE ADMINISTRATIONS % to the questioned 
Almost two thirds of residents of oblast centers of Ukraine (60%) have negative attitude to take-over or attempts to capture oblast state administrations by protesters while a third of the questioned have positive attitude to such practice (32%). 

 WHETHER CIVIL WAR THREATENS UKRAINE % to the questioned 

In January 2014 a larger part of residents of oblast centers of Ukraine noticed a high level of danger of the beginning of civil war in Ukraine – on opinion of 8% of the questioned it will definitely happen, and 32% of respondents noticed that there is a real danger of civil war. One third of residents of oblast centers (31%) noticed a possibility of civil war. Only every fifth resident of oblast center (20%) absolutely does not believe in possibility of civil war in Ukraine.
